Fire in CMM court: Case papers gutted


Dhaka – Some papers of Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court were gutted in a fire on Sunday noon.

The fire broke out from a plastic bottle, full of kerosene. The bottle set on fire was thrown in front of non-GR, Surapur and Wari GR section. The miscreants fled away immediately, while the police and employees of the court, present on the spot brought the fire under control. Some papers of the court were burnt in the fire.

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Bikash Kumar Saha inspected the spot and asked the concerned security officers and employees to be more careful about the security of court.

Meanwhile, Aminur Rahman, concerned Assistant Commissioner (Prosecution) told present newsmen that pro-hartal (shutdown) people might have put on fire. However, no one was arrested in connection with the incident till writing this report.

On the other hand, at about 2 o’clock a cocktail was exploded in front of Dhaka Judge’s Court. – Court Correspondent
