Firearm, bullets recovered on C’nawabganj border


Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered a firearm, six rounds of bullet and two magazines from Singnagar bordering area in Shibganj upazila on Friday.BGB-9 Battalion Director Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jafar Sheikh Mohamamd Bazlul Haque said a patrol team of BGB recovered the firearm and ammunition lying in an abandoned condition from the main pillar no. 171 within 300 yards of Bangladesh territory around 8:15 pm.However, none was arrested in this connection.Besides, another team of BGB recovered 148 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Telkupi in the bordering area in the afternoon. Meanwhile, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested a man along with 399 bottles of liquor from Maharajpur Pukurtuli area in Sadar upazila on Friday.The arrestee was identified as Abu Taleb, 25, son of Dulal Ali of Chaktola village in the upazila. -UNB, Chapainawabganj
