FM Mahmood Ali in New Delhi to attend Vajpayee’s funeral


Dhaka, Aug 17 (UNB) – Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali reached New Delhi on Friday morning to attend the funeral of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The government of Bangladesh is deeply shocked at the sudden demise of the former Prime Minister of India, said the Foreign Ministry.
Vajpayee, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), died on Thursday after a prolonged illness. He was 93. He had suffered a stroke in 2009.
Vajpayee’s funeral will be held at 4 pm on Friday with state honours in New Delhi, BJP leaders told media in New Delhi.
His mortal remains will be kept at his home for paying last tributes between 7.30am and 8.30am tomorrow morning, and then will be taken to the BJP headquarters at 9 am.
