Forced motor Cycle registration fetched Tk 112 crore

Government earned revenue of around Tk 112 crore as 14,5,92 unregistered motorcycles were forced to registered during on going drive against unregistered  motorcycles by police across the country till September 5 from July 1 5.
It was disclosed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque while briefing to reporters at police headquarters on Monday.During the period, the IGP said, police seized 37,751 motorcycles from across the country. Of them, 11,036 motor cycles were released after registration fees were deposited in BRTA’s offices, while 3,556 others were released after getting registrations.
Besides, police also collected fined of Tk 1,88,53,317 after giving prosecutions against 44.855 motorcycles during the drive, he said and adding that the drive against unregistered motorcycles will be continued. – News Desk
