Four Pathargata BCL leaders expelled for ‘rape’


Dhaka – Four leaders of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Pathargata unit, Barguna, have been expelled in connection with the murder an unidentified girl after rape at Barguna Patharghata College. They were expelled from the BCL emergency meeting on Sunday night.Those expelled are the BCL President Ruhian Danil, 22, general secretary Saddam Hossain, 21, organizing secretary Mahidul Islam Raihan, 19, and BCL vice-assistant Mohammad Mahmud, 18.
Borguna District Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Zubair Adnan Anik said that they were expelled for the reason of murder after rape and doing negative acts for the organization. The incident was reported through a letter to the central committee of BCL.
On August 10, a body of an unidentified woman was found from the back of Khaspukur at Patharghata College. Police said that the girl was killed after rape.
Police arrested four leaders of the BCL unit, Ruhianan Daniel, on Saturday and Sunday. Earlier on Thursday night police arrested the night watchman Jahangir Hossain of the college. The four leaders were arrested after the statement of Jahangir Hossain.
SM Ziaul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Patharghata Police Station (OC) Said, “The investigation of the killing case is going on and there is a development of the investigation. I should not make any elaborate comments for the sake of investigation.” – Staff Reporter
