Free circumcision for distressed children in Rangpur

The Lions Club of Rangpur (LCR) District 351A2 conducted free circumcision for 30 poor and distressed minor boys at a camp arranged
at Rangpur Lions School and College ground in the city on Wednesday.
The circumcision camp was arranged with assistance of Family Planning association of Bangladesh (FPAB) on the second day of observance of
Lions October Service Week-2013 to serve the suffering humanity and distressed people.
A discussion meeting was also arranged before conducting circumcision (sunnate khatna) in the camp there with President of LCR District
351A2 Lion Enamul Haque Sohel in the chair.Secretary of LCR 351A2 Lion Mahbub Akhter Lotan, Lions Shahidul Anam,
Arif Hossain, Sheikh Sanaullah, Advocate Rashid Chowdhury, Dr Abdul Hye, Nurul Akhter, Advocate Rothish Chandra Bhowmik, Kamrul Hassan
Jewell, Emdadul Islam, Azharul Islam Dulal, FPAB officials Zakirul Bari and Dr Samorpita Ghosh Tanya, addressed.
In his speech, Enamul Haque Sohel said the LCR with the assistance of the Lions International and Green Earth Save Heart have been providing
various services to the poor, distressed and physically challenged people at different places in the district.
The services include distribution of saplings, sanitary latrines, medicare treatments and distribution of medicines, ‘sunnate khatna’,
treatments to eye and dentistry patients, blood donation, blood and diabetic tests, distribution of improved foods, educational inputs,
sewing machines and other goods among distressed people.
These services will be provided till October 7 next when observance of the week will be ended through a seminar at the LCR office and Deputy
Inspector General of Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police Iqbal Bahar will attend it as the chief guest, he said.
Later, expert surgeons and physicians of the FPAB conducted circumcision of thirty poor boys belonging to the distressed families
of different areas in the district.-BSS
