The AL MP was sentenced to prison and fined on graft charges The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) had charged him with the illegal ownership of property worth around Tk 3 million. The High Court had overturned the verdict in October 2010 following an appeal by Maya.
The ACC then went to the Supreme Court, which quashed the High Court verdict and ordered a fresh hearing.
