The “Fu Wang Food Cup Golf Tournament -2016″ ended through a colourful prize-giving ceremony held at the auditorium of Rangpur Cantonment here on Saturday night.More than 100 contestants from different Golf Clubs participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the three-day (February 18-20) tournament sponsored by Fu Wang Food Limited.

Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division and President of Rangpur Golf Club Major General Md Masud Razzaque attended the inaugural and concluding ceremonies as the chief guest.The final rounds of the tournament were held at the Golf Ground of Rangpur Cantonment on Saturday followed by the prize-giving ceremony in the evening.In the Male Group, golfer Lieutenant Colonel Zulfiqar secured the first position while Major General Md. Masud Razzaque won award for becoming the best gross.Golfer Enamul Haque Sohel became the runner up while Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah won award for becoming the second best gross.Golfer Nafi became the second runner up while Brigadier General AKM Shamsuddin won the ‘conventional on’ award.Brigadier General Amin Akbar won award for making the longest drive while Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Rezaul Kabir won the nearest to pin award.In Female Group, Nasrine Jahan Bobby became the winner while Miss Sumaiya Haque Subah secured the first position in Junior Female Group.Nawshin secured the first position and while Rehan and Kabb jointly came out as the runner up in the Sub-Junior Group respectively.Chief guest Major General Md Masud Razzaque distributed prizes among the winners. Managing Director of Fu Wang Food Limited Arif Ahmed Chowdhury with his other Directors, military officials, officials of Rangpur Golf Club, participating golfers and local journalists attended the inaugural and concluding ceremonies.The prize-giving ceremony was followed by a colourful cultural function at the same venue where music, songs and dances were presented by the local artists.(BSS)
