German Bundestag doubt Bangladesh Parliament credibility

German parliament doubts the acceptability of the current Bangladesh parliament among the people.
In a meeting with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, a visiting parliamentary delegation also expressed scepticism on whether this parliament would be able to complete its five-year term. MP Dagmar Woehrl is leading the German delegation.
A German embassy media release said speaking on the Jan 5 elections during the meeting, she appraised the Speaker of the Bundestag “concerns that the current Parliament might not enjoy sufficient acceptance by the people for going the full 5 years distance”.Bundestag is the national parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany.
They hoped that signals would “soon come out of Bangladesh for the beginning of substantial dialogue between major political forces”.
The BNP-led alliance boycotted the national polls resulting in more than half of the seats returning winners uncontested.
Western countries found the elections ‘not credible’ and had been pressing for a dialogue between the Awami League and the BNP.
The German delegation is visiting Bangladesh to see factory safety and workers rights issues a year the Rana Plaza building collapse on Apr 24 last year, killing over 1,100 people.
They paid a courtesy call on the Speaker.
They congratulated Chaudhury for being Bangladesh’s first woman Speaker and “praised her leadership role”.
Woehrl told the Speaker about their visit during which they met both factory owners and the victims of the Rana Plaza collapse.
She hoped that Bangladesh’s parliamentarians would take clear initiatives to amend the existing labour laws and to improve the social security standards of workers to fully meet ILO standards.- bdnews24.com
