Two senior BNP leaders yesterday termed the arrest of party leader Aslam Chowdhury on charges of making contacts with Israeli intelligence agency Mosssad at a stage-managed drama.The BNP leaders’ comments came following the news spread about an alleged meeting between Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and Aslam Chowdhury to overthrow incumbent government.
At a discussion meeting, BNP standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy alleged that the government arrested the BNP joint secretary general to get supports of Muslim World.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed at a press conference accused the government of plotting a drama about Aslam Chowdhury to divert the incident of Bangladesh Bank reserve heist.
The BNP leader said he does not see any problem in talking to the Israeli person what he said a businessman openly and he was invited by India.
Aslam Chowdhury was arrested from Dhaka on Sunday on charge of developing links of Israeli intelligent Mossad to over through the government.
Replying to question, Rizvi said the government has reached on the verge of collapse and this is why it is trying to create issues to stop it.
He demanded the release of elderly party leader Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah who was sent to jail on Monday after he surrendered before the court in a case.
Addressing a discussion meeting at Photojournalist Association Goyeshwar Chandra Roy said the BNP does not believe in conspiracy.
“Conspiracy is the achievement of Awami League and they do not understand anything without conspiracy. That why they are hatching conspiracy,” he said adding, conspiracy never being hatched openly.”
He also accused the government of staying in power in assistance with India.
