Govt not to hold exams for grades I, II and III students

Following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s directives, the government
has decided not to hold any examination for students of first, second,
and third grades in schools, according to the Ministry of Primary and Mass
Education Secretary Akram Al Hossain.
The secretary made the announcement in a press briefing yesterday
during the publication of the primary scholarship exam results at the
Secretariat. He said, “The students will be promoted to the next grade
on the based on an assessment procedure.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had instructed the ministry to
not hold any exams for students of class one, two and three.
The Primary and Mass Education Ministry was initially set put the
decision into effect from 2020, but this was later changed to this
year.
While announcing the decision the secretary said that there will still
be an evaluation process for the students before they are promoted to
the next class and for classes four and five, exams will be mandatory.
Asking about coaching centres the Secretary said, “Raids against
coaching centres are currently ongoing all over the country and mobile
courts will take necessary action against the centres.”
In the press briefing, it was informed that a total of 82,500 students will receive  the PSC Scholarship which will be based on PSC exam
