Country’s leading private mobile phone operator Grameenphone is set to launch its 3G services for customers residing in the city’s Bashundhara and Baridhara areas on commercial basis on Tuesday.
“This will mark the beginning of a roll-out of the nationwide network with the ambition of covering all 64 district towns by the end of March next year,” said Allan Bonke, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Grameenphone.
“It’s a proud moment for Grameenphone as we now start serving customers with 3G-packages. By offering a seamless experience with instant internet access on the best network, we’ll provide our customers with the competitive mobile service they expect from Grameenphone,” he said.
Allan Bonke said the company will offer three value packs for subscribers to choose from depending on their device type, usage and affordability needs, according to a press release.
From now on customers within the coverage areas will be able to use 3G packages of Grameenphone. The operator initially is offering three packages in two speed tiers, with more packages to come in the near future.
Within the next few weeks other areas of Dhaka and Chittagong along with Gazipur and Narayanganj will be covered with 3G network.
