HC judge feels embarrassed to hear rule against Eng Mosharraf

Dhaka – A High Court judge on Monday felt embarrassed to hear a rule issued earlier in connection with case filed against Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain for concealing information in the wealth statement, unb news agency reported.Justice M Selim expressed the embarrassment to hear the rule and sent the file of the case to Chief Justice SK Sinha.
Talking to reporters, Anti Corruption Commission lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan said a new bench will be assigned for the hearing.
An HC bench comprising Justice M Ruhul Quddus and Justice M Selim was hearing the rule for several days. However, Justice M Selim expressed embarrassment during the rule hearing on Monday, he said.
On November 11, 2007, the ACC filed the case against Mosharraf with Ramna Police Station for concealing information of wealth to the tune of Tk 3.8 crore in his wealth statement.
On August 27, 2008, the High Court issued a rule why the case filed against Mosharraf should not be cancelled after he filed a petition in this regard.
The court also stayed the case proceedings.
