Hearing of petrol bomb explosion case against Khaleda with 37 leaders fixed on Apr 5

A Dhaka court on Wednesday fixed April 5 for passing order to take into cognizance the charges of the case filed against BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia and 37 others under the Special Power Act for killing a man through hurling petrol bomb on a passenger bus at Jatrabari in the city.Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor of the CMM Court of Dhaka reviewed the complaint of the cases and passed his order on Wednesday.

On May 6, last year, DB Police Inspector Bashir Ahmed, submitted two charge sheets to the court against the accused. Of the accused 31 accused including Khaleda Zia were shown as fugitives. Eighty-one persons were made accused in the case.

The case docket says that on January 23, last year, petrol bomb was hurled at a bus causing injuries to 29 persons. Of them seriously injured passenger Nur Alam, 60, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital during medical treatment. SI M Nuruzzaman filed the case on January 24 with Jatrabari Police Station against the accused and Khaleda Zia was the prime accused.
