Dhaka-A court here on Sunday accepted the charge-sheet against eight members of banned Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in connection with the killing of Japanese citizen Hoshi Kunio.Passing the order, judge of the Kaunia Judicial Magistrate Cognisance Court Arifur Rahman also issued warrants for the arrest of four fugitive accused and acquitted five people, including local BNP leader Rashed-un-Nabi Khan Biplab.
Those indicted are Abu Sayeed, Masud Rana, Ishak Ali, Liton Miah, Saddam Hossain, Nazrul Islam, Ahsan Ullah Ansari and Sakhawat Hossain.
Of them, the former four are currently behind the bars while the rest on the run.
Earlier on July 1, officer-in-charge of Kaunia Police Station Abdul Kader Jilani, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge-sheet against them before a local court.
Hoshi Kunio, 65, was gunned down by unknown assailants near his farmhouse at Kachu Alutary in Kaunia upazila on October 3 last.
