Former Minister Barrister Nazmul Huda on Monday proposed the name of lone independent Member of Parliament (MP) Engineer Fazlul Azim as the Prime Minister of the poll-time interim government.
“As the independent lawmaker Fazlul Azim could be an acceptable person to both the ruling Awami League and the opposition BNP. So, the President may appoint him as the Prime Minister of the election-time government by following the Constitution,” he said at press conference in the city.
Placing nine-point proposal, Barrister Huda said the election could be held without amending the constitution by accepting his formula.
He hoped that both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament would consider his formula to form the poll-time government following the constitution.
“I am placing the specific proposals to facilitate the talks between the two leaders. It will not require amendment to the constitution,” he added.
Earlier, addressing a discussion meeting at the National Press Club on August 27, Dhaka University teacher Prof Asif Nazrul also called for appointing Engineer Azim as the chief of the interim government.
