ICT verdict against 6 war crimes accused any day

Dhaka – The verdict in war crimes charges against six Gaibandha men, including former Jamaat-e- Islami MP Abu Saleh Mohammad Abdul Aziz Mia will be delivered any day.They have been charged with genocide, murder, illegal confinement, loot, arson, torture and other heinous crimes during the Liberation War of 1971.
The former Jamaat MP and his five accomplices — Mohammad Ruhul Amin alias Manju, Mohammad Abdul Latif, Abu Muslim Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Nazmul Huda and Mohammad Abdur Rahim Mia- have been indicted for the offences, they allegedly committed in Sadar and Sundarganj Upazilas of Gaibandha district.
On Tuesday, the International Crimes Tribunal concluded hearing the closing arguments submitted on behalf of the prosecution and defence and kept its verdict pending. – Special Correspondent
