Indian intruder handed over to BSF after jail term


An Indian national was returned to the authorities of that country by
the Bangladesh authorities on Tuesday after completion of his jail
term in the district jail for intrusion.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) handed over the man identified as Fazal
Mia, 35, son of Abdul Aziz Mia of Kakripara village under Mankarchar
police station of Dhubri district of Assam, to Indian Border Security
Force (BSF) on Nakugaon border in Naliatabari upazila in the
Sources at BGB said Bangladeshi police arrested Fazal from Roumari
border on September 7, 2011 for his illegal border crossing.
Later, he was sent to Sherpur prison where he served six months’ jail.
Fazal completed his jail term on March 6, 2012 and had been
languishing in the prison for one and a half years since then as the
Bangladesh authorities could not send him to India for the delay in
his repatriation process by the government of that country. -UNB,
