Islamic Bank Consultantive Forum meet held in capital


Dhaka – The 48th meeting of Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF) was held in the city on Sunday, UNB news agency reported.
IBCF Chairman Engineer Mustafa Anwar, also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, presided over the meeting held at the Meeting Room of Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB), said a press release on Monday.The meeting discussed Islamic Banking activities in Bangladesh and underscored the need for establishing a National Islamic Banking Training Institute by the IBCF member banks for human capital development of the Islamic Banking Industry.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Mohammad Towhidur Rahman, Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd; AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Vice Chairman of IBCF; M Azizul Huq, Vice Chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited; Md Sayedur Rahman, Vice Chairman of Social Islami Bank Ltd; Shah Abdul Hannan, Advisor of IBCF; Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director and CEO of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited; Dr Mohammed Haider Ali Miah, Managing Director of EXIM Bank Ltd; Syed Waseque Md. Ali, Managing Director of First Security Islami Bank Ltd; Md Abdul Hamid Miah, Managing Director of Union Bank Ltd; Md Mofazzal Hossain, Deputy Managing Director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd; Mohammad Shahjahan, Deputy Managing Director of Southeast Bank Ltd; Md Shakir Amin Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director of Dhaka Bank Ltd; AZM Sheikhul Islam, Head of Islamic Banking Division of Prime Bank Ltd; and ABM Abdus Sattar, Executive Vice President of AB Bank Ltd.
