It’s BNP not AL who destroyed democracy with militancy: Asad

Dhaka – Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal yesterday said that all information about the recent acts of terrorism and militancy have come to the hands of the members of law enforcing agencies.“We have already submitted charge sheets on several cases related to militant acts and we came to know who are involved in the recent terrorist and militant activities. They will be brought to justice soon,” he said this while addressing an extended meeting organized by Dhaka North City Unit Awami League, in a city community center.
The home minister said the recent acts of terrorism and militancy in the country is a part of local and international conspiracy against Bangladesh. But no conspiracy would work against the country as its people are now united under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he added.
Addressing the same programme, AL joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif alleged that the country’s two political parties—BNP and Jamaat are behind the recent killing and militant attacks across the country.
About BNP plans to wage movement protesting the verdict against its senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman, Hanif warned BNP that the people would give the party a befitting reply if it tries to create anarchy in the country in the name of waging protest programme against Court verdict on the issue.
The HC verdict has proved that Tarique Rahman is a corrupt person and a criminal, so if BNP creates anarchy in the name of holding protest rallies over the issue, people are ready to give it a befitting reply, he said.
Referring to a statement of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Hanif said it is not AL, it is BNP who destroyed country and its democracy through corruption and stablishing militancy in the country.
