Jailed former Bnp lawmaker Nasiruddin Pintu is dead. He was under imprisonment at the Rajshahi Jail.
Pintu, convicted in the February 25 2009 paramilitary BDR massacre in which 57 officers were killed in the biggest ever peace-time trouble in the military in the world, was serving prison term.A former leader of Jatyatabadi Chhatra Dal, opposition Bnp’s sudent associate, Pintu tried to contest the just concluded Dhaka City Corporation polls but was disallowed on the ground of his conviction.
According to reports reaching Dhaka Pintu told jail authorities that he was feeling unwell and was taken to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he breathed his last. He might have suffered a heart attack, some sources said. News Desk
