JU senate registered graduates’ election Saturday


Savar, Dhaka – The election registered graduates’ representatives to the Jahangirnagar University (JU) senate, will take place on Saturday on the campus.At two polling stations of Social Sciences and New Arts buildings, vote casting will go on from 9am to 4pm.
In this election, the 75 aspirants are contesting from a total of 3 panels along with 2 AL-leaning panels and a single pro-BNP one while a total of 44 candidates are vying independently from a total of 119 ones.
Centering the polls, security measures have been pressed and tightened enough. ‘The voters should go to vote thru the archways, set up at the polling stations’, said Prof Sheikh Monzorul Huq, Treasurer and returning officer to the polls.
Polls of registered graduates’ representatives are going to be held after 16 years while last one took place in 1998. – JU Correspondent
