JU student hospitalized after ragging by BCL men

A first year student of Jahangirnagar University was hospitalized following ragging by Bangladesh Chhatra League activist at the university’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman(BSMR) hall on Monday midnight.Kajol, student of English department and resident of BSMR hall have been asked to present hall guest room by some junior BCL activist on Monday night and fell sick after enduring the mental and physical torture for about two hours and was immediately rushed to the Enam Medical College Hospital around 1:00am.
Kajol said, “I had requested them to go as my final exam is running but they didn’t pay any heed”.
BCL men Liton of philosophy department, Shawon of Institute of information technology, Tanjil of Public Health dept., Shahin and Shourov of Urban and Regional Planning dept. and Tanvir of Environmental Sciences department tortured him mentally and hurled slung language, they also threat him to oust from the hall, he added.
All of the BCL men are the followers of JU BCL Cultural Secretary Abdul Kaiyum Bipul.
While contract, all of them denied the allegation terming that they called him to discuss about the function.
JU Proctor Prof Tapan Kumar Shaha said that they would take proper steps if victims file any allegation to them.
