Juba League leader killed in Chattogram ‘gunfight’

Chattogram, Oct 13 (UNB)- A local leader of Jubo League was killed in an alleged gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Agrabad area under Double Mooring Police Station on Sunday night.

He was identified as Khurshid Alam, 45, vice-president of Jubo League’s Pathanthuli Ward unit. Rab said he was accused in eight cases filed with various police stations in Chattogram.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Mashkur Rahman of Rab-7 said there had been a gunfight between a Rab patrol team and a group of armed criminals around 9pm on Sunday.

Later, Khurshid’s body was recovered from the spot, he said.

Three firearms and 12 bullets were also recovered from the site.
