Justice Sinha may move to his daughter in Australia


Dhaka – Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, who went for one month leave, is likely to go to Australia anytime to stay with his elder daughter Suchana Sinha, according to sources.As part of his preparation, Sinha who along with his spouse Sushama Sinha has already obtained three years visa from Australian High Commission in Dhaka, yesterday went to ICDDR,B for some tests.
Sources in the ICDDR, B said the CJ went to the hospital at about 7:00am and gave blood and urine for tests. The CJ came out from the hospital at 8:15 am.
A senior official of the ICDDR,B declined to make any comment on the test result saying that they cannot disclose anything about a patient as per the patient non-disclosure agreement.
Meanwhile, a doctor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) went to CJ’s residence at Hare Road in the afternoon to examine the health condition of SK Sinha.
Earlier on Saturday, additional registrar of Supreme Court Appellate Division Arunav Chakraborty and deputy registrar (finance) Farzana Yasmin met the Chief Justice.
The Chief Justice had taken one month leave on health ground amid alleged pressure following the Appellate Division verdict repealing the 16th amendment to the constitution.
The BNP alleged that the Chief Justice was forced to go on leave and he has been kept under surveillance.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anisul Huq, however, said that the CJ has been suffering from cancer. – Staff Reporter
