Katrina Kaif: My mum is not here to meet Neetu Kapoor

Katrina Kaif, whose wardrobe overhaul has been generating a lot of buzz, caused a mild furore on the red carpet of a recent gala with yet another show-stopping outfit. Only this time, it was flawlessly complemented by her inner radiance.
Dressed in a sparkly Mikael D gown that featured a thigh-high slit, which she paired with studded ear-climbers, a diamond two-finger ring and Louboutins, the 32-year-old actress’s arrival had the photographers, who’d been snapping Sonali Raut till then, clamouring for a good shot. While the former ‘Bigg Boss’ inmate fumed about her thunder being stolen, Katrina patiently waited for her turn in the spotlight. Katrina smiled graciously, and, for a change, didn’t shy away from addressing personal questions.

“Yes, my mother is in Mumbai,” she confirmed, adding, “And no, she is not here to meet Neetu Kapoor,” in the wake of reports that her mum, Suzanne Turquotte, was in the city to engineer a patch-up with the Kapoors. Grapevine had it that Kat was shattered after her breakup with Ranbir Kapoor and needed some good ol’ chicken soup for the soul, rustled up by her mommy. However, Mirror has learnt that it’s Kat who is nursing her mother.
“Katrina’s mother flew in from Pondicherry to undergo an operation. She had been unwell for a while and Kat wanted to be by her side when the surgery took place. They are presently living in the sea-facing apartment Kat once shared with her former beau. Her mom will head back to Pondicherry in a few months,” a close friend of the actress informed Mirror.
The friend also revealed that Kat is focussing on her career and doesn’t intend to play the sympathy card. “Neither she nor her family or friends have attempted to touch base with the Kapoors.”
Bollywood’s former ‘it’ couple hasn’t been on talking terms ever since their split (Mirror, January 16). While Ranbir moved out of the love nest to a cosy bachelor pad, Kat has been on the lookout for a new address on Pali Hill or Hill Road since she can’t move back into her old Bandra home, Guldev Sagar on Linking Road, owing to plumbing problems. – Times of India
