Khadiza shifted to HDU as improving gradually


Dhaka-Sylhet college student Khadiza Begum Nargis who was stabbed by unit BCL leader has been shifted to cabin from the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at Square Hospital in the capital early yesterday as her condition is improving gradually.
In the morning Khadiza’s father Mashuk Mia informed journalists of her shifting to cabin.
Quoting physicians he said Khadiza needs treatment for a long time for recovery. Her left arm and leg are still paralysed. She is being given physiotherapy.
A few days ago, her life support system was opened completely.
For the last few days, she had been able to recognise and call her family members by their names, her father said adding, “Sometimes she recognises me or her uncle and call us by names in a faint voice.”
Doctors operated on her right hand on October 17 and said there were injuries on her left hand which needed surgeries, but they would wait till her overall condition improved further
On October 3 Khadiza, a 2nd year degree student of Sylhet Govt Mohila College, was stabbed by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit BCL leader Badrul Alam on her way home from MC College after appearing for an exam, following the refusal of his proposal for having a love affair with him.
Khadiza was first taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital from where she was moved to Dhaka-STAFF REPORTER
