Khaleda condoles BNP leader Jahangir’s death


Dhaka: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday expressed deep shock at the death of Noakhali BNP leader Jahangir Alam.
Jahangir, former president of Noakhali district unit Jubo Dal and Begumganj thana unit BNP general secretary, died on Tuesday night. UNB News Agency Reported.
In a condolence message, Khaleda recalled Jahangir’s contributions to reorganising Noakhali unit Jubo Dal and his role in democratic movements.
She said her party cannot forget his contributions to making Begumganj BNP a stronger and dynamic unit of the party.
“Begumganj thana unit BNP has lost a competent, active and devoted organiser through Jahangir’s death,” the BNP chief added.
She prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed her profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
In separate condolence messages, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Moudud Ahmed, vice chairmen Barkatullah Bulu and Mohammad Shahjahan, chairperson’s adviser Zainul Abedin Farroque, party joint secretary general Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Chittagong divisional organising secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shamim also condoled his demise.
