The Special Judge Court-3 of Dhaka on Thursday fixed January 21 for cross-examining the Investigation Officer in the Zia Charitable Trust Graft case. Meanwhile, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Sanaullah Mia again filed a time petition with the court in the morning on the grounds of physical illness.

The former premier more than 50 such hearing sessions in the past and her counsel have always shown different excuses for her absence.
Lawyers later quizzed Harun-or-Rashid, the investigating officer of the cases.
In 2008, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed a case against six people, including Khaleda Zia and her eldest son Tarique Rahman, for allegedly misusing Tk2.1 crore from the funds of the Zia Orphanage Trust.
In 2011, the ACC accused the BNP chief and three others of misappropriating Tk3.15 crore from the Zia Charitable Trust fund.
