Dhaka – Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Khaleda Zia on Monday said it is not possible for all to enjoy the Eid properly.
She made this comment in a statement on the eve of the Eid-ul-Azha.
“Spiralling prices of essential of commodities have pushed the poor and low income groups of people to the brink of suffering. Life of people have been further compounded by shortage of water, fuel-oil, gas and electricity,” Khaleda said in the statement.
She said the main teaching of qurbani (sacrifice of animals) is to sacrifice own self for the welfare of the humanity by shunning self interest Khaleda urged the wealthy people to come forward to the aid of the poor and helpless people.
“We should take care so that nobody goes without food and happiness. We must share Eid festival,” she added.
She prayed to the Almighty Allah for the peace, happiness and progress for all and the society and hoped that it would bring amity and harmony among the all. – Staff Reporter
