Lalon’s humanitarian songs and discussions on his lifestyle by local artists and poets of Kumarkhali upazila was one of the main attractions for the second day of the program. Ardent followers of Lalon from across the country and Bauls from the Lalon Academy also enchanted the audience with their devotional performances.
Fakir Lalon Shah, who is considered to be one of the greatest spiritual inspirations of Bengali culture, left his body on the month of October in 1890 at the age of 116. Lalon left no written copies of his songs but many Bauls claim that he composed around 10,000 songs orally, which were later transcribed by his followers.
