Le Méridien Dhaka celebrates first anniversary


Dhaka – Le Méridien Dhaka, the city’s newest luxury business hotel, has celebrated its first anniversary.
Rashed Khan Menon, MP, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation was present in anniversary ceremony as Chief Guest and Sayeed Khokon, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, was also present as special guests on the occasion.

Rashed Khan Menon in his speech, urged Le Méridien to continue their role for the advancement of tourism sector. He cited the tourism year activity will continue till 2018 for the development of this sector.
Sayed Khokhon said, ‘We want to build Dhaka as a cosmopolitan City. A cosmopolitan city should have good number of hotel like Le Méridien. He hopes investors will get interested to invest in hotel market after seeing the success of Le Méridien Dhaka.
General Manager of Le Meridien Dhaka, Ashwani Nayar said “Within one short year of launching we have achieved four renowned global hospitality awards starting with the “Best Design & luxury Hotel Award, 2015”, thereafter the Today’s Traveler Award, 2016”, followed by the “Certificate of Excellence from Trip advisor, 2016”, and more recently the World Luxury hotel award 2016 in the category of “Best Luxury City Hotel”.
As one of the promising flag-ship hotel for Le Méridien brand in the Asia region, Le Méridien Dhaka has generated substantial interest from the managing company Marriott International to be the showcase for the brand as it truly encompasses all elements of a European classic yet contemporary Le Méridien, offering an element of discovery within the entire product and facilities.
The hotel has been themed as an art and design inspired hotel which was opened one year ago with a promise to offer ‘the discovery of the destination – Dhaka, with a New Perspective’.
In a very short period of starting operations the hotel has already become synonymous with VVIP accommodation and has had the honor to host the visit of dignitaries including the President of the Peoples Republic of China, the Prime Minister of Kuwait, the delegation of the Saudi Prince and the Qatar Royal Family amongst other corporates who also opted the hotel to stay during their visit to Bangladesh.-UNB
