Lions Club arranges blood donation camp in Rangpur

The Lions Club of Rangpur (LCR) District-351A2 with the assistances of the Family Planning Association of Bangladesh (FPAB) organised a camp for free blood donation, bloods group and diabetic tests here on Thursday.
Specialist physicians, technicians and nurses of FPAB conducted cost free blood group tests of over 180 persons, diabetic tests for 200 persons and youths of the city donated 50 bags blood spontaneously in the camp at FPAB office premises.
The daylong camp was organised by the LCR on the third day of observance of the Lions October Service Week-2013 to serve the suffering humanity and distressed people in the district. A brief discussion meeting was arranged in the inaugural ceremony at FPAB office premises with President of LCR District 351A2 Lion Enamul Haque Sohel in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Farid Ahammad addressed the ceremony as the chief guest and inaugurated activities of the free medical camp while Managing Director of Prime Medical College Abdul Wahab Chowdhury attended as special guest.
Secretary of LCR 351A2 Lion Mahbub Akhter Lotan, Lions Shahidul Anam Tuhin, Arif Hossain Tito, Sheikh Sanaullah, Emdadul Islam, Kamrul Hassan Jewell, Dr Zahid, Azharul Islam Dulal and Principal Nurun Nabi Chowdhury were present.
The LCR with the assistance of the Lions International and Green Earth Save Heart have been providing various services to the poor, distressed and physically challenged people at different places in the district since October 1. The services also include distribution of saplings, sanitary latrines, medicare treatments and distribution of medicines, ‘sunnate khatna’, treatments to eye and dentistry patients, distribution of improved foods, educational inputs, sewing machines and other goods among distressed people. –BSS, Rangpur
