Popular Bangladeshi drama group Loko Natyadal will stage their regular stage production “Baikunther Khata” on July 7th at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s Experimental Theatre Hall, marking their group’s 37th anniversary. The two-day-long celebration will start on July 6 at Mahila Samiti Auditorium, Baily Road.The play, written by Rabindranath Tagore, is directed by Kamrun Noor Chowdhury. It stars: Jahidur Rahman Piplu, Abdullah Al Harun, Khairul Alam Tipu, Anwar Kawsar, Tanjina Rahman, Touhidul Islam, Basudeb Halder, Minhajul Huda Deep, Sudhanshu Nath, Nadit Noor Chowdhury Jadu, and more.
The play’s stage design was done by Jahidur Rahman Piplu; costume design by Kamrun Noor Chowdhury; background music by Mujahidul Haque Lenin; light by GM Sirajul Hossain; stage management by Sudhanshu Nath; and production management by Anwar Kayser.
According to Loko Natyadal’s Press Secretary SM Ajad Rahman, the group has produced more than 30 works in the last three decades. Their popular production “Konjush” has been staged the most frequently.
Their other major productions include: “Ondho Nogorer Chaupat Raja,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Padma Nadir Majhi,” “Tapaswi O Tarangini,” “Boshikoron,” “Sunagoriker Shondhane,” “Porogacha.”
