Dhaka – A man was allegedly killed in Sadar Upazila’s Naldagi area in Laxmipur late Sunday by miscreants over unpaid loan interest.Identified as Abu Sayed Majhi, son of Abu Taher and hailing from Naldagi, he was said to have taken loan from money lender Belal Uddin recently, but reportedly could not repay his full loan interest on time.
After a verbal scuffle on Sunday evening, Belal had gathered his people later that night, called Sayed to come out of his house and had beaten him to death, Sayed’s relatives alleged.
Police later retrieved the body on Monday afternoon and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
Chandraganj police station officer-in-charge Md Jafar Ahmed said that Abu Sayed Majhi was killed over unpaid loan interests. They arrested one Sagor Uddin after the incident, with preparation underway for case filing.UNB
