Ganajagaran Mancha announced to continue its sit-in at the Shahbag in the city until Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujaheed and BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury verdict execution.“We started our sit-in from today (Friday) afternoon and we will stay at Shahbagh until death sentences of the two war criminals are carried out,” Imran said.
While speaking at a rally during their mass sit-in programme, Imran said, it is clear that there is no differences between Jamaat and BNP as the organization (BNP) has delivered a controversial statement on Thursday that claims war criminal as freedom fighter.
Imran said that “the crimes of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury during liberation war were known to all and we also hopped that BNP would take resistance against the war criminals but they did not do so, moreover they followed Jamaat’s footprints, which disappointed the mass people” he said.
“The execution of two masterminds will fulfill the expectation of 16cr people in the country indeed” he hopped.
The secular, youth-led platform has been campaigning for maximum penalty for all war criminals since Feb 5, 2013.
Earlier on Wednesday the SC upheld its previous judgment on Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujaheed, rejecting his plea for reviewing death penalty for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
