McKenzie named Bangladesh’s batting consultant


Dhaka – Former South Africa batsman Neil McKenzie has been appointed Bangladesh Cricket Team’s batting consultant until the World Cup 2019 in England and Wales.The newly appointed coach is expected to join the national team in Guyana on July 24 during Bangladesh’s one-day international series against the West Indies, said a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media release on Friday.
McKenzie played 58 Tests, 64 ODIs and two Twenty20s for South Africa and acted as batting consultant for South Africa twice, following his retirement from international cricket in 2009. McKenzie fills the last vacant position of BCB’s coaching staff, a position that had remained vacant for nearly a year. Steve Rhodes and Ryan Cook joined as head coach and fielding consultant the last month.UNB
