SMSs conveying the results of a combined medical and dental admission test for both public and private institutions started being sent to the candidates on Sunday, two days after the test.
Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Khandaker Md Shefayetullah told bdnews24.com at around 5pm that the authorities had started sending SMS to the candidates’ cell phone numbers taken at the time of filling in admission forms.
The results will also be soon available on the website –www.dghs.gov.bd – he said.
A total of 68,172 candidates vied for 9,194 seats in public and private medical and dental colleges on Friday.
The Director General said 96.5 was the score of the one-hour, 100-mark multiple choice questions (MCQ) examination held across Bangladesh.
According to admission rules, students would be allotted seats based on their admission test scores and GPAs of the SSC and HSC. A candidate must get at least 120 out of 200 in order to be considered.
The 22 government medical colleges have room for 2,812 candidates while 10 public dental colleges and medical college dental units have 532 seats. The 54 private medical colleges can offer 4,800 seats while 18 private dental institutes have 1,050 seats.
Earlier, while on a round of the test centres at Dhaka University, health minister AFM Ruhal Haque on Friday said the results would be published by Monday as they planned to complete the admissions this month.-bdnews24.com
