Moudud admitted to hospital for chest pain

Dhaka, Oct 6: BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed was
admitted to a city hospital as he suddenly fell sick on Sunday
afternoon.
Shahidul Islam, personal staff of Moudud told reporters that the BNP
leader was rushed to United Hospital after he fell down at his Gulshan
residence following chest pain.
He is now under close observation of physicians at the coronary care
unit (CCU) of the hospital.
Shahidul said the condition of the veteran politician is seemingly
improving, though doctors said it will take six hours to assess his
condition.
Moudud, a current MP and also a former minister, went to Sylhet to
join a public rally of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday. He
complained of light chest pain at night and flew back to the capital
on Sunday morning.
He got fainted around 1:30pm at home while going to washroom and then
taken to the hospital, Shahidul added.
Meanwhile, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir,
vice chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka, chairperson’s adviser Abdul Awal
Mintu, and party MPs Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Anee and Khandaker
Mahbubuddin Khokan visited him at the hospital. – Staff Reporter
