Dhaka – BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed is set to leave Dhaka for London on today, Saturday, for better treatment by a regular flight of Emirates Airlines, said Moudud’s junior Ehsanur Rahman.
He told reporters that Moudud is going abroad for treatment as per advice by physicians at United Hospital where he has been undergoing treatment since last week.
The veteran BNP leader was admitted to the hospital after he fell down at his Gulshan residence following chest pain on Sunday afternoon.
Moudud, a current MP and also a former minister, went to Sylhet and joined a public rally of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on October 5. He complained of light chest pain at night and flew back to the capital on Oct 6.
A few hours after returning home, Moudud fainted at about 1:30 pm while going to the washroom. He was immediately taken to the United Hospital.
Moudud underwent various tests at the hospital, but the doctors could not identify any specific cardiac problem. – Staff Reporter
