Dhaka – Mohammedan Sporting Club and Legends of Rupganj won their respective 7th round matches of the 4th Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) by six wickets at two venues on Friday.Avishek Mitra played a 95-run innings for Mohammedan (232/4 in 47.4 overs) against Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club (228/9 in 50 overs) at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah before he fell victim of run out at 183/4 in 40.3 overs after facing 134 balls hitting three boundaries and two over boundaries. Later, he was adjudged man of the match.Mohammedan skipper Raqibul Hasan(49 off 60b; 5×4) and Nazmul Hossain Milon (26 off 18b; 1×4) played unbeaten innings while Rony Talukdar and Shamsur Rahman added 26 and 21 runs respectively.Imtiaz Hossain and Arafat Sunny took one wicket each for 7 and 60 runs in 2 and 10 overs for Prime Doleshwar.Abdul Mazid (50 off 73b; 4×4; 1×6), Prime Doleshwar skipper Farhad Reza (46 off 42b; 2×4; 2×6) and Jaker Ali (40 off 80b; 2×4) were the notable scorers for the side who were sent into to bat first.Delivering 10 overs each, Charith Asalanka and Sajedul Islam captured three wickets each for Mohammedan.With the day’s result, Mohammedan collected 10 points from seven outings, having five wins and two losses, to advance to the 4th place from 5th in the points table.Despite the day’s loss, Prime Doleshwar maintained their previous 6th place by virtue of more run rate collecting eight points from seven matches, having four wins and three losses.In another match, Legends of Rupganj (156/4 in 45.3 overs) defeated Victoria Sporting Club (155/10 in 45.3 overs) at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground-4 in Savar.Man of the match Pinak Ghosh made a half century scoring 62 off 110 balls, including four boundaries, while skipper Naeem Islam added unbeaten 29 runs.Mohammad Arafat, Rubel Mia, Monir Hossain and Imamul Mustakim took one wicket each conceding 16, 17, 31 and 31 runs respectively for Victoria SC.Uttam Sarkar top-scored 35 off 45 balls, including four boundaries, for Victoria SC while Rubel Mia (28) Imamul Mustakim (22), Moinul Islam (21) and Nasiruddin Faruque(14) were the other double figure scorers for the side who elected to bat first after winning the toss.Raza Ali Dar captured three wickets for 13 runs in 8.3 overs for Legends of Rupganj.Delivering 10 overs each, Mosharraf Hossain and Mohammad Sharif took two wickets each for 36 and 44 runs. With this, Legends of Rupganj collected eight points from seven matches with four wins and three losses to maintain their 7th place in the table while Victoria Sporting Club remained winless.UNB news agency
