Mymensingh Sramik Dal leader, wife, 2 daughters killed

A local Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal leader, his wife and their two daughters have been murdered at Lobonkota village in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh district.
Police recovered their bodies on Tuesday morning. Sramik Dal is the labour associate of the main opposition BNP.The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam Bachchu, general secretary of Habirbari union unit of Sramik Dal, his wife Parul Akhter and two daughters – Jiniya Akhter, 6, and Rima Akhter, 2.
Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Bhaluka Police Station Abdul Quader Miah said locals spotted the bodies of the family members in the morning and informed them.
Later, they recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital for autopsy, he said.
The police official said they found the body of Bachchu in a minibus at the courtyard, that of his wife in their house, both lying in pools of blood. The mouths of their two daughters were tied with clothes.
Police suspected that the couple was hacked to death and their children were strangled sometime on Monday night.
The motive behind the killing could not be known yet. – UNB
