No case filed over AL leader murder in capital’s Badda


Dhaka, June 18 – No case has been filed in a connection with the murder of Farhad Ali local Awami League (Al) leader in capitals’ North Badda.
Nazrul Islam, Investigation officer, Badda police station confirmed about that.
The deceased family was yet to register the case. Even yesterday, if they failed to file the case, the police themselves will be filed case.
Kazi Wazed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badda Police Station, said that two killers from a CNG run auto rickshaw shot Farhad from a very close range. The auto-rickshaw was stopped by police at the check post of Badda-Gulshan link road. They also fired at the police there indiscriminately and fled the scene.
Police officials said they are professional killers. Closed Circuit (CC) camera footages were collected to identify them. No case was filed in this connection by the deceased’s family till Monday. After filing case, the official investigation will start.
Farhad Ali, general secretary of the ruling Awami League’s Badda Union wing died instantly in a hail of bullets that pierced his chest and head.
Police officials said two criminals riding a motorcycle came to the spot and opened fire on him.
Police could not unearth the reason behind the killing and track down the killers immediately.
Meanwhile, criminals opened fire on police at Gudaraghat check-post on Badda-Gulshan Link Road while passing the area by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw after the murder.
However, investigation Officials said that Farhad Hossain (50) may have been killed due to illegally extortion, dish business control, transport extortion and personal conflicts from traders.
According to locals, Farhad had a long dispute against a rival group in the area over dish business. The incident might be happened over sharing extortion collected from locally run auto-rickshaws and other vehicles. There might have been reasons like a business, family feud or personal affairs.
Police officials said both are professional murderers. After identifying the footage of the CCTV cameras, police will be able to identify their identity. The operation is going on for the arrest of the killers. – Staff Reporter
