The Rajshahi Medical College Hospital authorities have withheld the certificates of 20 odd interns who have been accused of assaulting journalists.
On Saturday, the authorities said they would consider issuing the certificates to the 49th batch interns after reviewing the reports of the two probe committees on attack on journalists and denying treatment to them.
Hospital’s Deputy Director ASM Barkat Ullah said of the 159 interns in the batch, 115 had completed their internships on Saturday.
Around 20 interns applied to the director for their certificates on the same day but they were turned away.
RMCH Director Brig AKM Nasir Uddin said the decision on issuing certificates would be taken after reviewing report of the committee formed by a High Court rule to probe an incident of denying treatment to a patient and also the report of another committee formed to probe the Apr 20 attack on journalists.
No certificate will be issued before that, he said.-bdnews24.com
