The government is yet to take any decision on giving consular access to journalist Shafik Rehman who was arrested last month on charge of attempted abduction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son and ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.
“It’s still under consideration. No decision is taken yet,” Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali told reporters at a press conference at his ministry on Wednesday afternoon.
He also referred to some reports saying there is no obligation to granting consular access in case of a person having dual citizenship, as Rehman does.
Earlier, the British High Commission in Dhaka sought consular access to Rehman.
