No gap between Executive and Judiciary: Minister

Dhaka – Law minister Anisul Huq on Thursday said that it was clear from the chief justice’s statement that there was no gap between the executive and the judiciary.The law minister said this at the Hotel Sonargaon in the city just a day after the Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha has alleged that the rule of law and development of the state is being obstructed due to some political leaders and over enthusiastic government officers and employees.
Speaking at a function of lawyers in Joypurhat, he further said that some government officials provided wrong reports to the head of the government and the government takes decision based on those reports.
Apart from the statement, the common people believed that a gap has made between the executive and the judiciary following the recent statements made by the various quarter of the government and the chief justice.
When asked the law minister if there is any gap between the executive and the judiciary, the law minister said, “I think the honorable chief justice ended the all hurdle by giving statement. He (chief justice) has clearly said that there was no gap between the government and the judiciary,” the law minister said.
Earlier, the law minister opened the 22nd annual congregation of Bangladesh Lion Club 315-A at the Hotel Sonargaon in the city. Law minister attended the gathering as the chief guest.
However, the law minister declined to make any comment in any issue and even he did not reply to any other questions of the reporters.
In his addressed at the programme, the minister said that Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman built the basement of the country’s infrastructure, education, economy and other development of the country. Now, his daughter prime minister Sheikh Hasina is continuing the development of the country. The country’s economy is in good shape after the ruling Awami League came to the power in 2009, the minister said.
The minister urged the Lions to lay their hand for the poor people of the country.
Lion Kalpona Raziuddin presided over the programme while former FBCCI president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed and Sheikh Kabir Hossain were also present among others. – Staff Reporter
