No IS in BD, reiterates Home minister


Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Friday reiterated that there is no presence of Islamic State (IS), the militant outfit based in Middle-East, in Bangladesh.”The collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces during the Liberation War of 1971 had been carrying out militant activities in the name of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), HuJi and Ansarullah Bangla Team.

And they’ve now got united in the name of IS,” he said.The minister was speaking at a programme marking the inauguration of the Cox’s Bazar regional passport office.Asaduzzaman said when the country is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the anti-liberation forces have got out to hinder the development. “They’re forming militant groups like IS brainwashing young people.”He claimed that they have already identified their evil attempts. “The militants who are a few in number will be eliminated at any cost, or else the country can’t move ahead,” he said, adding that the militants will find no place in the country if people get united.The minister said if those have gone stray want to return to normal life realising their mistakes, the government will help them.
