No more liberal attitude towards BNP: Nasim

Dhaka: Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Saturday said Awami League would no longer show a liberal attitude towards BNP.
“BNP, while in power, hatched a conspiracy to destroy Awami League and kill Hasina. We have showed liberal attitude to BNP many times. But we don’t want to show it anymore,” Nasim said. UNB News Agency Reported.
Mohammad Nasim, also a presidium member of Awami League, said this while addressing a discussion organized by Krishak League marking National Mourning Day at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city.
The health minister said “showing liberal attitude towards BNP means expressing our weakness. No liberal attitude with the killers.”
On the proposal to withdraw the Independence Medal to BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, Nasim said “I don’t know what type of decision will be taken.”
He went on saying Bangabandhu is the great leader of the country’s independence. By awarding Independence Medal to Zia, BNP brought Bangabandhu and Zia to the same level. And this is how they distorted the history. The distortion now needs to be corrected.
Addressing the occasion, Food Minister Quamrul Islam said BNP is a terrorist party and the party doesn’t believe in democratic politics.
“It (BNP) is a party of killers. The party will never bring back its democratic character. The main target of the evil force is Sheikh Hasina. They want to kill Sheikh Hasina to destroy Bangladesh,” he added.
Former Food Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque, among others, spoke on the occasion, held with Krishak League president Motahar Hossain Molla in the chair.
