A special tribunal of Dhaka yesterday (Tuesday) sentenced top terrorist Sanjidul Hasan Emon for 17 years in an arms case.
Judge-in-Charge of Dhaka’s Special Tribunal-7, Masud Parvez pronounced the verdict on Tuesday in presence of the convict. According to the case statement, police arrested Emon with a foreign-made revolver and 33 rounds of bullet from Mohammadpur area in the capital.
Later, Inspector Uttam Kumar Biswas filed the case with Mohammad Police Station under the Arms Act. Police submitted the charge sheet of the case to the court on April 5, 2008. On August 13, 2008, a court framed charge against Emon. Of the sixteen witnesses thirteen testified in the case. – Court Correspondent
