People want to get rid of the AL: Khaleda

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia said on Saturday that the ruling Awami League is a burden on the country and the people should get rid of the party.
Addressing a big public meeting at the Kanchpur Balur Maath Begum Zia  safe urged the people to get united and come to the street and wage movement till the fall of the government.
Begum Khaleda Zia urged the youths to join movement assuring them that she and her party leaders will be with them in the fight to restore their rights. Terming the government killer, she said the country is not safe in their hands.Khaleda said there is no democracy in the country. Corruption has been reigning supreme in everywhere. December is month of victory but the people of the country have little to celebrate in this month as they are humiliated, turned victim of killings enforced disappearance and abductions, she said.
The rally was organised to press the demand for free and fair elections under non-partisan government and protest continued killings, abductions and repression.
Criticising the allies of the government Begum Zia said JSD leaders say that AL had killed 30,000 of their workers while the AL charge JSD of killing thousands of people. These killers have now come to one stage. Autocrat Ershad has come to their fold, she said.
The self-proclaimed betrayers and world famous shameless people have now got united; she said the country has been in the grip of murders and abductions. 11 people have been killed in Narayanganj, but none has been punished, because they include people from the AL.
She said that the people behind the murders remain beyond reach. A few  people have been caught only to play to the gallery. Accusing Col Zia of Rab of being the mastermind of the Narayanganj murders she said that the mystery behind the murder and enforces disappearances would surface if he is taken to task.
Khaleda said that the Sunderbans was being systematically destroyed. She complained that the AL did not only finish people but also the country. They want to grab the country too. They want to wipe out the name and shape of  Bangladesh. They cannot be allowed to continue in power any more, she said.
The BNP chief said they would not sit idle is the prices of electricity and gas were increased. Prices of agricultural inputs and fertilisets have been increased many times, she said.
Terming the AL as the real militant, she sought to know who Shaikh Abdur Rahman was. He was a relative of an AL leader. Khaleda said that they did not need to kills PM Sheikh Hasina who she said would face the curse of Allah and rejected the allegation of conspiracy to kill her as a motivated propaganda.
She said bad days are ahead for the AL because the people would not let them to go alone. The people are becoming vocal against repression and injustice. So immediately call elections under a non-partisan caretaker government. HT Imam himself has said that there cannot be impartial election under you, she said.
Presided over by Adv Taimur Alam Khondakar, president, Narayanganj BNP the public meeting was addressed also by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Mirza Abbas, Dr. Moyeen Ahmed, Amanullah Aman and 20 party leaders Andaleeb Rahman Parth, Prof Mujibur Rahman, Mostafa Jamal Haider, Maj Gen SM Ibrahim, Shafiul Alam Prodhan, Adv Abdul Mubin, Garib Newaj, Mustafizur Rahman Iran, Jebel Rahman Ghani, Saifuddin Ahmed Moni, Muhiuddin Ekram and Sayeed Ahmed among others.
